Chinese culture is a warm culture, i.e. it’s a group culture, whereas western culture is more of a cold culture that individualism is uphold. In other words, if you are in my circle/family, I have all the obligations to “look after you well”, e.g. give you gifts, feed you food, go to the bathroom with you (I’m half joking!😁), be responsible for your emotions/happiness, etc. etc.
Perhaps that’s why you see Chinese girls holding hands👯♂️+ going to the bathrooms🚺together all the time!😉
Someone accused me for not taking care of her emotions well. She got terribly upset😤as I have failed her unspoken expectations🙄, although I don’t know her. To be more, she’s like a physical representation of Chinese culture which has hurt me.😔 Today, I finally got to understand a little bit more why she was so mad at me... I have forgotten that she’s from a warm culture, and she doesn’t know that I am more adopted to the so-called cold culture. Perhaps she’s also unaware of my international exposure. That realisation has helped me to have a bit more compassion for her❣️ It’s interesting to see how different people react differently according to our backgrounds and cultures. So, what’s my role here? ✝️Perhaps... serving as a bridge enhancing more understanding between the warm and the cold cultures❓🔆
